Charging Questions

Q: CygoLite NiMH and Li-Ion rapid smart chargers all look the same. Does that mean they can charge any of the Li-Ion or NiMH batteries from CygoLite?

A: No, even though they look the same, the rapid smart chargers were made to charge specific batteries. Only use the charger in conjunction with the battery it came with. For charger and battery compatibility refer to the battery and charger labels. For more questions about charging contact CygoLite customer service directly.

Q: Do I need a special charger to charge my CygoLite battery outside of the USA?

A: Yes, to charge any CygoLite battery outside the USA, you may need a 240 volt charger. If you purchased the CygoLite system in the USA, it has come with a USA charger and you must contact CygoLite for the appropriate charger. If you purchased the CygoLite system in the country you are using it in, then that system should already come with the appropriate charger.

Q: Do any of your CygoLite systems come with chargers that will work on both 110 volt and 240 volt outlet?

A: All CygoLite systems that come with Li-Ion batteries include chargers that will work on 110 volt and 240 volt outlets. This includes the TridenX Li-Ion, DualCross Pro Li-Ion and DualCross Li-Ion.

Q: Will an off-the-shelf universal charger recharge my CygoLite battery?

A: We recommend only using the provided CygoLite charger to charge the CygoLite battery. Use of any other charger may result in damage.

Q: Can CygoLite overnight chargers be replaced by CygoLite rapid smart chargers?

A: Some CygoLite models that came with overnight chargers may be upgraded to rapid smart chargers. For more information, contact CygoLite customer service.
